Determining how to stop bullying at school has been one of my main focuses in the latest years, when I got the privilege to get involved with the local secondary schools in terms anti bullying and self defense courses. It’s no surprise that numerous incidents related to bullying of students have been reported during the past few years. As a result, those students tend to give up school. They fear of getting bullied and they find it much comfortable to stay at home. However, this can create adverse effects on the future of those students.
The situation doesn’t look promising
In today’s world, it has become important for every person to receive a good education. Otherwise, they will find it as a difficult task to enter the industry with a proper job title. As a result, result, those students will have to live with poverty and depend on somebody else. Or else, they will have to depend on public assistance, which isn’t even enough to ta
ke care of day to day expenses. In the long run, these students would become single parents and their students would also drop out from the school, in the same way.
From the studies, it has also been identified that students who drop out from the school are 8 times more likely to serve in prison, when compared to high scho
ol graduates. On the other hand, they are 4 times less likely to volunteer for the community. They also fail to engage as active citizens in the country and vote to elect responsible leaders. In other words, these students fail to contribute towards the country and the community. This can create a
negative impact on the society and quality of life in the long run.
How to stop bullying at school with all these premises
As you can see, bullying can be considered as the main reason behind all these negative consequences and how to stop bullying at school the real topic to discuss.
When it comes to bullying of students, a single student or a group of students would use their physical and mental strength in order to pressure the weaker one. A weak student can be subjected to bullying in many ways. They include damaging the belongings of the victim, taunting, name-calling, threatening, physical aggression and intimidation. However, the end effects of all these activities are more or less the same at the end of the day.
When the students are being bullied, especially due to their weaknesses, they find it as a difficult task to do anything against it. In other words, they come across a helpless situation, where they cannot depend on anyone. This can create a negative effect on productivity. In addition, the students would be subjected to a variety of mental health issues such as psychological distress and aggressive behavior. Empathy would vanish from their minds and they would start hating the society. This is the beginning of a variety of negative consequences.

All the students should at least receive a basic education from elementary school. Unfortunately, bullying can keep them away from pursuing education. Therefore, it is the high time to think about implementing necessary steps to avoid bullying of students with weaknesses and let them continue with their right for education.

Then you can help students to understand their identity and the identity of others. With that understanding, they will go ahead and appreciate it as well. Kindness and empathy plays a major role in here.
Empathy is all about putting yourself in the shoes of another person. When you teach empathy to a student, he will be able to think from the perspective of a weak student in his class. As a result, he will not tend to bully the other person.

When students feel connected to others, they will not tend to bully them. Even bullying takes place, weak students are in a position to cope up with it. Hence, the students who try to bully will get discouraged and they will not keep on doing it.
As an educator, you can think about creating a safe place within the classroom for all students to be express themselves. In addition to that, you should also make sure that students are being heard. Then you can allow them to communicate with each other effectively and out a stop to bullying.
Create content with arts
Arts can be a powerful tool, which can assist you to prevent bullying. Therefore, you are strongly encouraged to take a look at it as well. You should create content with arts whenever possible. It can act as a vehicle, which students can use to engage in meaningful conversations with others. Through art, educators can think about convincing negative effects of bullying to students.
